Fengqing Dian Hong

 

Fengqing Dian Hong is a Yunnan Hong Cha or Black tea from Fengqing County in Lincang Prefecture, a region well known for its black tea production and Pu'er. The aroma of the long wiry leaves smells of malt and dried stone fruit; its aroma is quite rich. The taste is a blend of chocolate, roses, dried cherries and long lingering aftertaste of plums to finish it off. This tea is a wonderful choice for either a relaxing afternoon tea or an early morning wake up, no matter how or when you prepare this tea, it is immensely enjoyable.

  • MEANING:  Yunnan red (tea) from Fengqing (fengqing dian hong)

  • TASTE:  Rose, sweet, mellow


Preparation
IN THE TEAPOT
  • Quantity: 6g / 500ml
  • Water temperature: 90°C
  • Infusion time: 4 min
GONGFU CHA METHOD
  • Quantity: 3g / 100ml
  • Water temperature: 90°C
  • 4 infusions: 45, 60, 60, 90 sec

For best results in gongfu cha, brew in the traditional gaiwan or in a Yixing teapot. Too high water temperature would burn the leaves, resulting in bitter taste.
