Chaozhou Tea Tray

A ritual of simplicity can take place around a minimal setup of white porcelain and a water-catching bowl that doubles as a tea tray. Atop fits perfectly a complete Chaozhou set up of Chaozhou gaiwan and three Chaozhou tasting cups, typical of the original gong fu brewing tradition. Tea rinses, decantations, and spills disappear into its body socket supporting a certain continuity and rhythm of brewing many infusions, at shorter infusion times, in ever-so smaller teaware.
